Mommy and Daddy Do It Pro Bono
Are you a fireman, astronaut, or ballerina? Odds are against it, but if you have kids who look up to you, you may have sometimes wished you chose to do something a little more…inspiring. Thanks to a soon-to-be-published book by the founders of Taproot Foundation, your workaday career may have a shot at capturing your kid’s imagination after all.
Mommy and Daddy Do It Pro Bono seeks to prove that “we all have the opportunity to create a life story that is meaningful and inspiring” to our children. Featuring pages like “My Mommy the Consultant” and “My Daddy Makes Ads,” the book is perfectly in tune with the mission of Taproot Foundation, which organizes professionals (marketing, HR, IT, and strategy management) to provide pro bono services to non-profits.
I’m working on my first Taproot project now, and so far am finding it to be an amazing organization—a brilliant idea, a worthy cause, and a well-run operation. Hopefully this book will live up to the high standards set by the Foundation’s creators. I’m looking forward to hearing more about it, eventually checking it out, and, hopefully, find myself inspired by the heroism of a (fictional) brand strategist who’s “doing it pro bono.”
